A good quality set of four antique early Victorian rosewood dining chairs dating from circa 1850. Beautifully figured rosewood frames, the top rails generously carved with acanthus leaf details over shaped and carved centre rails. The stuff over-seats upholstered in a plush purple velour and supported by tapering fluted front legs and sabre legs to the rear.
Construction/Wood:
Rosewood
Condition Report:
Good colour and patina to the rosewood with wear and marks commensurate with age. Some of the chairs have mends to the legs /seat rails, mainly solid and sturdy a little movement here and there. The fabric has a few marks to it, would benefit recovering but useable.
