This is a fine 19th century tapestry armchair in solid oak with carved lion mounts dating from the late Victorian era, circa 1890.
The chair is in an imposing throne style with fine and characterful carved lions heads to the arms and rampant lions holding shields as finials to the uprights.
The chair is in good sound condition and the original needlepoint tapestry is in excellent order, with central dragon design and swirling floral embroidery. The upholstery is all set with large traditional brass studding and in good sound order throughout.
A very handsome statement piece measuring 133 cms high 64 cms wide by 60 cms in depth.
