Description

A superb early 18thc elm writing box....it still has the early iron "strap" hinges and period brass escutcheon and if you look inside, you can see all the splashes and leaks of the ink from plenty of use....it still retains the candlebox / till and has all the original period woodwork....one of the things I like most is the size and the beautiful colour elm goes with age....a wonderful patination and so original.
