Desired Effect Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1860s.
The leather is in good worn condition with no holes. The inside back and arms with buttoned details and we believe the back has a feather and down cushion but as the leathers thick and held tight by the buttons its hard to confirm for sure, either way its a comfortable place to sit.
The back legs are unstamped but this chair is unmistakably by Howard & Sons - London. England C1860
The left back leg has an old historic repair but stands firm.
