This pair of early 18th century Portuguese Baroque side chairs originates from circa 1750 and is shaped from dark brown walnut with bone inlay and cane panels. Each chair stands on cabriole front legs and features a tall backrest inset with woven cane flanking a central wooden splat decorated with pale bone inlay motifs, topped by a carved crest rail above the seat. One seat shows a lighter coloured re-caned finish while the other retains a darker woven cane surface.
