A superb carved oak Gothic Revival casket. The box is made in sold oak carved all over with foliate designs and a green man mask to the front and back. The box has a wonderful ogee curved profile and is sarcophagus in shape. The whole is in completely original condition with a great colour and patina. It even retains the original working key. It is a highly unusual thing of wonderful quality and condition. C.1870.
