In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Chippendale Revival dining chairs emulate the mid-eighteenth-century designs of Thomas Chippendale, produced primarily during the late Victorian and Edwardian eras. Key characteristics include intricate fretwork or splat backrests, carved embellishments, and robust mahogany frames.

These chairs are predominantly constructed from dense, high-grade mahogany wood, known for its deep colour and carving workability. Seats are typically upholstered in woven fabrics such as damask, velvet, or leather over wooden seat frames.

Look for signs of age-appropriate timber shrinkage, hand-cut corner blocks, and secondary timber alignment beneath the seat frame. Machine-assisted cuts combined with hand-carved detailing on the fretwork often indicate late nineteenth- to early twentieth-century revival manufacture.

Pairing dark mahogany lattice-back chairs with a sleek minimalist table creates a balanced contrast between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary lines. Neutral upholstery fabrics keep the set visually lighter in contemporary dining spaces.

Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth along the intricate fretwork backrests. Apply a beeswax polish once or twice a year to preserve the timber finish, avoiding silicone-based sprays and direct heat sources.
