A quality Scottish George IV mahogany armchair with the classic ‘William Playfair’ Edinburgh tablet back with foliate carving at the ends, lower rail with similar elegant carvings, the shaped arms with foliate carving and reeding on the upright and on the facings finishing with a wonderful scroll with carved flower-heads on each side, with a drop in upholstered seat, the rails and sides all reeded, with saber back legs the front legs are ring turned, fluted and tapering, finishing on an elegant turned toe.
