An exceptional set of eight yew smokers bow type kitchen chairs, probably by I. Allsop & Son, Worksop, Nottinghamshire, circa 1870, of good colour, with elm seats, in original unrestored condition.

I. Allsop & Son, Windsor Chair Manufacturers, Worksop, Nottinghamshire, circa 1871-87; their trade card details the ‘Yew Office’ chair as their second highest priced chair at 17 shillings each. The ball motif to the centre of the H stretcher was typical of chairs made by Allsop.
