Description

-Welcome to Mersham Manor Antiques-

A very striking Victorian mahogany frame red velvet buttoned back library chair.

An extremely comfortable and generous deep seat to this very attractive chair.

c 1880.

The mahogany frame is exceptionally lovely and of excellent quality, having boldly carved barley twist arm supports, with bulbous spiral carved large forelegs, with sabre back supports, terminating on the original castors.

The mahogany has developed a rich warm colour and characterful patina.

The red velvet type material has signs of age and use, but overall in good useable condition.

Very solid, sturdy and strong.

The dimensions taken at widest and deepest points.

Height-102cm. Height of seat approx-44cm.

Width-74cm.

Depth-68cm.
