Description

A George II walnut frame wing armchair, circa 1760, probably by Richard Smith of Salisbury, on cabriole front legs carved with stylised scallop shells, stripped of upholstery back to old and in part original cloth and silk brocade.

Richard Smith, upholder (upholsterer) cabinet maker and auctioneer 1754-97, Salisbury, Wiltshire.
