FAQs

Treen refers to small, functional wooden household objects made before the widespread use of plastics and mass manufacturing, often hand-carved by folk artisans.

Treen items were typically crafted from domestic and exotic hardwoods such as boxwood, fruitwood, walnut, and pine, occasionally featuring hand-painted pigments or inlay work.

Authentic pieces exhibit tool marks consistent with hand-carving, natural patination from handling over centuries, shrinkage cracks, and wear patterns appropriate to their stated age.

Small antique objects add historical texture and character when displayed on surfaces like open shelving, side tables, or mantelpieces alongside contemporary items.

Keep wooden items out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources to prevent splitting, and occasionally apply microcrystalline wax to nourish the dry wood surface.
