Description

An antique Austrian / viennese 19th century brass and enamel mounted ebonized miniature cabinet / jewellery casket chest.The enamel plaques featuring antiquity / classical scenes, the four finials in the corners in the shape of pineapples and the central finial in the form of an flower. This is a beautiful example, missing one plaque, one also loose inside the drawer. The casket has nine enamelled plaques adorning the sides and interior once the hinged doors are open. There is a loose tenth plaque inside of of the drawers.

Approximate measurements: 14.5cm h x 13cmW x 10cmD

Condition

A few thin brass trims missing around the enamel panels,one plaque missing, one loose, one at the rear is damaged and the enamel plaque to the rear wall has some losses, blemishes around the ebonised body in places, see photos, however, these are very rare, superb quality and highly sought after as soon rarely come to market. There are similar current examples being offered online for thousands, this is sensibly priced to sell.
