We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Victorian seating is characterised by robust proportions, comfort-focused designs, and deep button tufting, often reflecting an emphasis on domestic luxury and craftsmanship.

These pieces typically utilized solid hardwoods such as mahogany or walnut for the structural frames, paired with horsehair stuffing, coil springs, and durable woven textiles for upholstery.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit hand-turned wooden components, traditional joinery methods, natural upholstery stuffing materials, and signs of age-appropriate patina on the timber.

Pairing a classic antique armchair with minimalist modern furnishings creates a balanced look, allowing the historic textures and traditional craftsmanship to stand out as a focal point.

Regular gentle dusting of the timber and professional dry cleaning for the fabric help maintain the condition, while keeping the piece away from direct sunlight prevents fading and wood drying.
