Queen Anne Pier Glass Mirror Circa 1710

Description

This is a fine red lacquer pier glass wall mirror decorated with gilt chinoiserie decoration dating from the Queen Anne period, circa 1710.

An extremely rare piece in splendid original condition, the large mirror has a deep moulded frame with scrolled pediment with wonderful deep red lacquer finish with Chinoiserie scenes and gilded highlights.

This has its original bevelled two part mercury plate also in good condition and is very much an excellent example.

The original timbered back with original back boards shows this has not been altered or opened since it was hand made over 300 years ago.

An imposing size, the mirror measures 116 cms by 47 cms.
