This is a good 19th century overmantel mirror with its original gilt finish and mercury plate in nice original condition. The impressive mirror dates from around 1860 and has a decorative plume to the crest with acanthus scrolls. The base spandrels have attractive blind, fret punch ground borders and the oval frame has a beaded border. The there are six Girandole candle sconce all still intact and in great condition.
The mirror plate is the original mercury glass with one or two areas of ageing but in a characterful way.
The mirror is a most imposing piece of grand scale measuring 151 cms high by 136 cms wide.
