Circa 1820. A quality pair of George IV rosewood upholstered library chairs. The curved back upholstered in black leather which is pleated and buttoned, the stuff over seat and arm rests also in black leather. The arms with carved curling terminals, supported on a shaped upright, with a simple curved seat rail, back legs are square and out swept, the front legs are classic ‘Gillows’ style fluted tapering, finishing on a brass cup with original brass castors beneath.
