A superb writing slope in burr walnut that dates to around 1850
In fantastic original condition with a bold parquetry pattern and an attractive burr walnut configuration on the top and front , with walnut sides and reverse
Has a mother of pearl cartouche and escutcheon and a working lock and key
With a oxblood gold embossed leather skiver on the writing area and comes with a pair of original glass inkwells
A divider to the left of the pen tray can be raised to release a sprung panel, behind which are a pair of secret drawers
It measures 13 1/2 inches wide, 6 inches high and 9 inches deep
A real statement piece that would make a fine present for a loved one
