A pair of George II period mahogany side chairs dating from around 1740. These dining chairs exhibit a warm brown timber colour with a rich surface patina, upholstered in a light patterned fabric. Each chair displays a shaped and pierced splat back positioned above a moulded seat rail, supported on cabriole legs. The knees of the legs feature carved shell decoration, and the structure terminates in ball and claw feet connected by a turned H-stretcher. The dimensions are 94 cm high by 55 cm wide and 50 cm deep.
