Handsome George III set of 8 mahogany dining chairs; with unusual backs in the Hepplewhite manner; comprising a pair of elbows and six singles. The balloon shaped backs having six vertical reeded slats above the padded upholstered seats with serpentine fronts raised on square tapering legs united by traditional ''H'' stretchers. The two carvers being wider in the seat; having outswept arms on scrolled fluted supports. Good colour and patination.
English circa 1780
Good original condition; upholstery usable but would benefit from being reupholstered.
