Set of 6 Scottish Laburnum Chairs

Description

Fine and rare set of 6 late Regency to early William 4th Scottish laburnum wood dining chairs. These are very refined for laburnum wood chairs and were obviously made by a top cabinetmakers. Turned front legs with carved decoration and very nice carved decoration to the top rail of the back. Covered in a quality green velvet. All the chairs are in sound condition ready to be used. There are a couple of minor old repairs but nothing serious.

A lot of laburnum wood furniture, especially from the 18th and early 19th centuries was made in Perth by George Sandeman who also made a wonderful Broomwood cabinet for Blair Castle.

SIZE; 18 1/2" across the front by 17" deep by 35 1/2" high. Seat height is 18"
