A very unusual and super quality 19th century buttoned leather back desk chair in solid oak with a crinoline stretcher, circa 1880 and in good original condition.
The original leather has the most wonderful waxy finish to it and the colour is lovely too with the light catching the buttoning.
The frame is made in solid oak with turned arm supports and legs, all finished with tramline turnings and the crinoline stretcher being both decorative and a great sign of quality, but also has helped keep this fabulous chair in good solid condition throughout its life.
The seat is well shaped for comfort and the horseshoe shaped back with the leather is just right for sitting in for many hours if you are looking for a desk chair, but also decorative enough to sit in a living room and used as an occasional chair.
Also stands on original brass castors too.
