A beautiful and quite charming antique Victorian shaving mirror. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1860-1880 period.
This is of superb quality, it is beautifully carved from solid mahogany. The oval mirror sits on a tripod base, the mirror can be angled and adjusted with an original metal sharks tooth mechanism on the back.
This mirror sits quite low, because the man shaving would be sitting on a chair in front of it.
We have had the mahogany frame re-polished, it is in excellent condition for its age. The bevelled glass looks to be original, there is some minor distressing to the silvered backing on the edges.
