We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Windsor chairs originated in the English countryside during the early 18th century, characterised by their distinctive construction where the legs and back are tenoned directly into a solid sculpted wooden seat.

Authentic chairs typically utilise a combination of timbers, often featuring a solid elm or ash seat, yew or beech for the bentwood bows and spindles, and ash or fruitwood for the undercarriage legs.

Verification involves inspecting the joinery for hand-carved wedge tenons, examining the natural patina and wear patterns on the wooden seat, and checking for traditional timber variances indicative of regional craftsmanship.

These seating pieces provide tactile warmth and historical contrast when paired with a minimalist contemporary dining table or used as standalone accent chairs in a minimalist setting.

Preservation requires maintaining stable indoor humidity levels away from direct heat sources and occasionally treating the timber with traditional beeswax to nourish the grain and protect the finish.
