Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

A George III toilet mirror is a small, portable dressing glass mounted on a box base with drawers, produced during the reign of King George III in Britain from 1760 to 1820, designed for personal grooming and placement on a chest of drawers or dressing table.

These pieces typically feature solid mahogany or mahogany veneers applied to secondary woods such as pine or oak, often incorporating hand-cut dovetail joints in the drawer construction, brass adjustment knobs, and ivory or bone escutcheons.

Authentic pieces often display period characteristics such as hand-beveled mirror glass with slight oxidation, secondary wood framing beneath, traditional hand-cut dovetailing, and original brass hardware or screw pins for pivoting the frame.

This item can be placed upon a modern console table or chest of drawers to introduce warm wood tones, historical texture, and functional reflection into a bedroom, hallway, or living space.

Maintain stable indoor humidity levels away from direct sunlight and heat sources, clean the wood surface periodically with a dry, soft cloth, and avoid commercial liquid polishes that contain silicone or harsh chemicals.
