Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

The Sussex chair was inspired by traditional vernacular seating found in country cottages and popularised by the Arts and Crafts movement in the 19th century, notably through designers associated with Morris & Co.

Authentic pieces are typically crafted from turned hardwoods such as beech, ash, or fruitwood, featuring woven rush or seagrass seats.

Authentication involves examining the hand-turned wooden components, the integrity and weave of the natural rush seat, traditional joinery methods, and signs of age such as genuine wear to the painted surface or oxidisation of the wood.

This piece works well as a sculptural accent in a modern living room or study, pairing natural textures with minimalist surroundings to highlight its historic craftsmanship.

Preserve the piece by keeping it away from direct sunlight and excessive humidity to protect the organic rush seat and maintain the original wooden finish without harsh chemical polishes.
