Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Georgian tea caddy is a small, lidded storage box created during the 18th and early 19th centuries to securely store loose tea leaves, which were an expensive and luxury commodity at the time.

These boxes were typically constructed from dense tropical hardwoods such as mahogany or rosewood, frequently featuring intricate veneer work, brass or silver hardware, and fitted interiors lined with foil or paper.

Authentic pieces often exhibit period-appropriate joinery such as hand-cut dovetails, genuine aged patination on the wood, original hardware including escutcheons and working locks with keys, and old hand-sawn timber boards.

This type of decorative object works effectively when placed on a sideboard, console table, or bookshelf to introduce historical texture, warmth, and refined storage into a modern living space.

Preservation requires keeping the item out of direct sunlight and away from rapid temperature fluctuations, periodically applying high-quality microcrystalline wax to protect the finish, and avoiding liquid cleaners.
