This Art Deco powder box is designed in clear and frosted glass. The lid is highlighted in electric blue and features stylised fruiting trees, exotic birds, scrollwork relief, and glass cabochons. The base is in plain crystal with matching panelled grapevine patterns around the exterior. The cover incorporates several rounded cabochons across the top surface, interspersed amongst birds and foliage motifs. The piece measures 4.5 cm high and 13.5 cm wide. Today, this item serves as a decorative accessory for a bedside table or dressing table, providing a practical storage vessel for small personal items while adding a touch of vintage glamour to an interior setting. The transparent sides reveal the interior contents while the intricate blue and frosted relief ornamentation creates a textured focal point when placed on display.

Art Deco powder boxes are lidded containers produced during the 1920s and 1930s designed to store cosmetic powders or trinkets on a dressing table. Makers such as Rene Lalique used press-moulded glass techniques featuring stylized flora, fauna, and geometric patterns typical of the era.

These containers were crafted using press-moulded glass techniques, often incorporating a combination of frosted finishes, clear polished sections, and applied blue or grey enamel staining to emphasize relief detailing such as cabochons and foliage.

Authentic pieces feature moulded or etched signatures, such as R. LALIQUE or LALIQUE FRANCE, usually positioned on the base or lower edge. Inspection of the glass reveals defined mould lines, smooth surface polishing, and hand-applied patination in low-relief areas.

A decorative glass powder box can be placed on a bedside table, vanity desk, or marble bathroom surface to hold small items of jewellery. Positioning the item near natural light highlights the translucency and relief pattern of the moulded glass.

Clean the surface gently using lukewarm water and a small amount of mild liquid soap with a non-abrasive cloth. Avoid submerging stained pieces for prolonged periods or using harsh chemicals, which can strip original surface patination.
