Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Imari porcelain is a type of Japanese export porcelain produced in the town of Arita, in the former Hizen Province, starting in the Edo period during the early 17th century.

Imari pieces are crafted from fine kaolin clay, fired at high temperatures, and traditionally decorated with an underglaze cobalt blue and an overglaze of iron red, complemented by gold leaf accents.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit hand-painted motifs, slight kiln imperfections, traditional color palettes of cobalt blue and iron red, and sometimes aged glaze crazing on the base.

Position the piece as a focal point on a mantelpiece, console table, or open bookshelf, allowing its intricate patterns to contrast against neutral modern surroundings.

Dust the item gently with a soft, dry cloth and avoid harsh chemical cleaners, immersing in water, or placing the ceramic in direct sunlight for extended periods.
