This Edwardian Imari vase stands 25 cm high, 14 cm wide, and 14 cm deep. The piece takes an object type of vase in an Imari porcelain style influenced by Japanese Meiji and Taisho aesthetics. The ceramic body carries a smooth glazed finish decorated in cobalt blue, rust red, and white, alongside gold leaf details. The surface displays hand-painted floral panels, a fluted body, floral medallions, a scalloped rim, and iron-red enamelling. The background shows a reddish-brown textured fabric backdrop and a polished wooden surface beneath the object. In a modern interior, this piece suits placement on a mantelpiece to complement an English Country House design vibe. The vase is suitable for display in a variety of rooms to add traditional pattern and colour to a shelf or display cabinet.

Imari porcelain refers to Japanese ceramic wares crafted in the Arita region and exported from the port of Imari, characterized by distinct underglaze cobalt blue and overglaze iron-red decoration enhanced with gilding.

Pieces were formed from kaolin-rich white clay, painted with cobalt oxide underglaze patterns, fired at high temperatures, and subsequently detailed with overglaze enamels and gold leaf in secondary low-temperature firings.

Authentic pieces exhibit a characteristic palette of deep cobalt blue, rust red, and gilded highlights, accompanied by minor hand-painted variations, high-fired porcelain density, and foot rim wear consistent with age.

Display the vase on a mantelpiece, console table, or within a curated shelf arrangement where its detailed patterns offer visual contrast against neutral walls or complement dark timber surfaces.

Wash gently by hand using lukewarm water and mild detergent with a non-abrasive soft cloth, avoiding chemical cleaners or dishwashers that could degrade the overglaze enamelling and gilding.
