An antique mid 19thC continental style polished birch snuff box c1860. The interior base and interior of the lid are lined with tortoiseshell. The top of the lid is decorated with a chequer pen work pattern. The wooden hinge is integral and works perfectly. Probably originally made in Northern Europe - possibly Germany, Denmark or Sweden.
