Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Edwardian design, spanning from 1901 to 1910, often lighter in scale and colour than Victorian pieces, drew inspiration from earlier periods such as Georgian, Sheraton, and Chippendale, frequently incorporating delicate satinwood stringing and marquetry.

These pieces were typically constructed from timbers such as mahogany, walnut, or satinwood, often featuring hand-bevelled mirror glass, dovetail joinery where applicable, and intricate marquetry or wood inlay.

Authenticity can be determined by examining the backboards for age-appropriate timbers and fixings, checking for hand-beveled glass with minor oxidation, and inspecting the hand-cut dovetails or traditional joinery methods.

An antique mirror adds depth and textural contrast to contemporary spaces when hung above a minimalist console table or in a narrow entrance hall to bounce natural light.

Maintain the timber using quality microcrystalline wax to nourish the grain, and clean the glass using a soft cloth and non-ammonia spray applied directly to the cloth rather than the frame.
