Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Regency childrens furniture from the early nineteenth century is characterised by classical proportions, elegant reeded turning, and dark hardwoods such as mahogany. Designs mirrored adult furniture styles of the period while incorporating safety features specific to juvenile use.

These high chairs were predominantly built using solid Cuban or West Indian mahogany, valued for its stability and rich grain. Seats were typically upholstered in leather or woven cane, accented with brass studding and functional brass fittings.

Authentic pieces feature period-appropriate construction details such as hand-cut dovetails, original brass hardware, and characteristic reeding along the arms and crest rail. Natural wear to the footrest, original patination, and evidence of historical hand tools also indicate genuine age.

An antique high chair serves as an intriguing accent piece in a traditional nursery, hallway, or dining space. It can be displayed as a standalone decorative sculpture or used to hold potted plants or decorative textiles.

Clean the timber regularly using a soft microfibre cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish annually to protect the original finish. Leather components should be kept away from direct heat sources and treated with a dedicated leather conditioner to prevent drying or cracking.
