A rare, exquisite and very stylish single tea caddy in a fabulous Art Nouveau design dating to around 1910.
The style reminds me very much of the Glasgow School of Arts work in the style of Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
The work is top qualtiy, with equisite wooden and Ivory marquetry inlay.
The box comes with a display key, not working as the teeth in the top lock have been broken into at some point, but the lock is original and better left than replaced.
The lid opens to reveal a single lidded compartment with a turned Ivory knob with inlaid Ivory backing.
An exceptional box in excellent condition. The footprint measures 3 3/4'' square and standing 6 1/4'' tall.
