London City Antiques has dated these Victorian Mahogany Dining Chairs to the 1860s.
The simplicity of the back allows the quality and colour of the mahogany to really stand out, while also giving the chairs a particularly graceful and uncluttered appearance.

The front legs are beautifully turned and reeded, terminating in neat tapered feet, while the rear legs sweep gently backwards in the traditional manner. The generous upholstered seats have been finished in a very pretty pale blue-green floral fabric with contrasting cream detailing, complementing the warm mahogany beautifully.

A very smart and usable set of six Victorian dining chairs with excellent proportions. Their understated design is particularly appealing, giving them a timeless quality that would work equally well around an antique dining table or contrasted with a modern table in a contemporary kitchen or dining room.

Condition Report
Presented in very good antique condition with age-related wear consistent with their age and use. The mahogany has a lovely rich colour and patina, and the upholstery presents beautifully.
