MebleinUK has dated these Victorian Mahogany Dining Chairs to the Victorian era.
The decorative detailing gives the chairs considerably more character than simpler balloon-back examples of the period.
The chairs stand on finely turned front legs with gently swept rear legs and retain a rich, warm mahogany finish with an attractive patina developed through many decades of use.
The seats are generously upholstered in a rich blue velvet fabric, finished with decorative braid around the edges. The deep blue upholstery contrasts particularly well with the warm tones of the mahogany.
With five matching chairs surviving together, this is a particularly attractive antique set, suitable for use around a dining table or individually as occasional, bedroom or dressing chairs.

The chairs are presented in very good antique condition overall and retain plenty of authentic period character. As expected with furniture of this age, there are various minor marks, scratches and areas of wear to the wooden frames. There are also a few small areas of wood loss/chipping, as shown in the photographs. These are cosmetic age related imperfections and have been reflected in the price.
