These pieces typically utilise figured wood veneers, such as walnut or mahogany, applied over solid timber frames. Glazed sections often feature timber glazing bars arranged in geometric or sunburst patterns, housing removable interior glass shelves and fitted with minimal brass or chrome hardware.

Authentic period pieces display consistent hand-applied veneers, period-correct glass, and traditional joinery such as dovetail joints on internal drawer or frame elements. Look for age-appropriate wear on the base edges and original catch mechanisms on the cabinet doors.

Position the cabinet as a standalone focal piece against a plain or subtly patterned wall to highlight its structural outline. Curate the interior shelves with neutral glass, ceramics, or books to maintain a balanced, uncluttered presentation.
