Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Queen Anne Revival mirrors draw inspiration from early 18th-century English furniture design, characterised by arched crests, carved shell details, and delicate proportions. During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, cabinetmakers revived these classic silhouettes, often incorporating painted panels or decorative veneers like yew wood.

Authentic Queen Anne and Revival mirrors typically feature figurative hardwoods such as yew wood, walnut, or mahogany. Construction methods often include moulded edge details, carved cresting pieces like scallop shells, and silvered glass mirror plates.

Look for features such as shaped arch tops, carved crestings, fine figure in the wood grain, and hand-cut joinery on original backboards. Revival pieces from the Edwardian period frequently combine 18th-century silhouettes with painted top panels depicting landscape or maritime themes.

Position the mirror above a hallway console table or a living room mantelpiece to create an engaging focal point. The rich wood tones and historic artwork complement neutral backdrops, dark painted walls, or traditional timber panelling.

Dust the wooden frame regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth and apply a natural beeswax polish occasionally to maintain the timber finish. Clean the mirror plate carefully using a lightly dampened cloth, ensuring water does not make contact with the painted panel or wood grain.
