Description

A 19th Century Tall Backed Oak and Elm Windsor Chair.

With a hoop back, following tapered spindles surrounding a shaped and pierced back splat. The broad arms sweeping from a stepped yoke, to finish with rounded hand holds. The arms over ring turned and tapered supports, centred by a lower shaped and pierced splat. The well figured saddled seat, standing on slightly outward splay ring turned and tapered legs. Joined by tapered double stretchers.

Height 45 1/2 inches, 116cm.

Width 26 1/2 inches, 68cm.

Depth 26 inches, 66cm.

Date circa 1850.
