Pair of Georgian Mahogany Knife Boxes.

Description

A pair of 18th century serpentine fronted mahogany knife or cutlery boxes. The sloping lids with inlaid oval panels above shaped fronts with boxwood and ebony stringing. The tops open to reveal an inlaid sycamore and ebony star on the underside with boxwood and ebony strung decoration round the inner frame. The boxes retain all their original fittings along with keys and have original old green baize bases, good colour and patina and in original condition throughout. English Circa 1790.
