A fine quality and larger than usual VICTORIAN Silver Gilt Snuff box hallmarked for BIRMINGHAM 1876 by ROBERT THORNTON.
 
Oblong shaped with all over engine turning. Faded family crest engraved to the central cartouche that looks like a lion.
 
The interior has a gilt wash and full set of hallmarks.
 
Measuring 8 cm x 3 cm x 2 cm and weighs a healthy 83 grams.
 
In very good antique condition, the hallmarks are good, hinge working well, gilding is still good, engine turning very nice but rubbed in places. Usual signs of wear commensurate of age and use.
