Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This large Venetian wall mirror dates from the 1930 Art Deco period. It has an outer frame composed of peach-tinted glass panels surrounding a central clear glass plate, with cut and etched floral motifs along the top, bottom and sides. The peach-coloured panels are secured with raised glass rosettes along the inner borders, and the outer edges follow a serpentine shape. The peach glass panels remain in clean condition without marks, while the central plate shows minor historic ageing marks. Measuring 92 cm high by 72 cm wide and 12 cm deep, it makes a substantial impact in a home. In a contemporary interior, this piece works effectively hung above a sideboard in a dining room or living space, or positioned in an entrance hallway to reflect light and add decorative character to a wall.

FAQs

Venetian glass mirrors feature layered glass construction, intricate hand-etched or engraved floral borders, and decorative glass rosettes covering the fastening pins.

These mirrors are made using silvered glass, hand-etched tinted or clear glass panels, decorative glass studs, and a solid wooden backing plate for support.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-wheel engraved details on the reverse or front of individual glass panels, glass rosettes over fixing screws, and slight silvering age marks.

Place the mirror above a sideboard or console table alongside warm neutrals and metallic accents to highlight the subtle tone of the peach glass frame.

Clean gently using a soft microfiber cloth sprayed with a non-ammonia glass cleaner, avoiding excessive moisture around the edges and metal fixing rosettes.
