A Regency Gilt Framed Dragon Convex Mirror

A Regency period wood carved and gilt framed convex mirror, Early 19th C. With original flaming dragon pediment, leaf carved apron and gilt finish. The moulded circular ball decorated frame topped with a carved pediment decorated with a dragon between two upright lances and flanked below by flaming dragon''s heads. Retaining the original convex mirror glass and gilding and the reverse with the original and untouched backing boards. The dragon motifs here are rather rare, eagles and dolphins being far more common on convex mirrors.
 
It measures 90cm (35½) high, 50cm (19½'') wide, 21cm (8'') deep.
