Description

A Victorian oak metamorphic library chair, with a shaped back incorporating a pierced carrying handle above a hinged serpentine-front seat, the seat back folding over to convert the chair into a stable set of steps, secured in both positions by a metal stay.

Providing both seating and practical access to height, it is a useful and compact form, well suited to a library, study or kitchen where occasional access to high shelving is required.

Very good antique condition with some surface wear commensurate with age and use. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place in the home.
