Antique Georgian Leather and Mahogany Gainsborough Armchair

Description

A smart and very well made antique Georgian leather and mahogany Gainsborough armchair. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1790’s period.

The quality is superb, this is a nice early model with a gorgeous patina and generous proportions. The leather has just the right amount of wear and has a lovely colour tone, we have had this revived by our leather restorer.

The mahogany has also been re-polished, this is in very good condition for its age, with just some minor wear remaining beneath the polish here and there, there are one or two minor historical repairs, nothing that detracts from the strength or look of the chair.
