London City Antiques has dated this Regency Mahogany Open Armchair to the 19th Century.
The arms are well shaped with attractive curves, supported by turned columns, a classic Regency feature.

The rich mahogany displays a warm colour with attractive grain throughout. The seat is upholstered in a later fabric, which presents well and is ready for use.
Chairs of this type were originally used in drawing rooms or at writing tables, offering both comfort and a more relaxed seating position compared to formal dining chairs. Today they are ideal as desk chairs, occasional chairs or bedroom seating.

A highly decorative and practical piece with elegant lines.
