Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The William IV period (18301837) bridges the Regency and Victorian eras, characterized by substantial proportions, classical carved details, bold turned legs, and the extensive use of flame mahogany.

Hall chairs were typically crafted from solid hardwoods such as mahogany, oak, or walnut, featuring unupholstered solid timber seats designed to withstand wet outerwear in grand entrance halls.

Authentic pieces feature period construction methods like hand-cut mortise and tenon joints, natural wood shrinkage on solid seats, deep hand-carved backrests often bearing crests or roundels, and aged patina.

Place a pair symmetrically on either side of a hallway console table or place an individual chair in a study corner to add historical texture and architecture to modern spaces.

Dust regularly with a soft dry cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year, keeping the wood away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent drying or splitting.
