Shackladys Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The serpentine crest rails are centered by an intricately carved rocaille cartouche, flowing into scrolled shoulders and down curved stiles that frame the upholstered backs. The carving is crisp and confident, with acanthus, shell, and foliate motifs repeated across the crest, apron, and knees, demonstrating careful attention to traditional craftsmanship.

Each fauteuil features padded backs and generously proportioned seats upholstered in a silk-blend damask of champagne ground with woven floral and foliate motifs in soft sage, blush, and ivory tones. The textile’s classical pattern complements the rococo lines of the frames, while braided gimp trim neatly outlines the upholstery, lending a tailored finish. The open arms are supported by elegantly scrolled and carved arm supports, terminating in padded armrests upholstered en suite with the backs and seats. The serpentine seat rails are centered with carved floral sprays, and the cabriole legs descend gracefully to scrolled feet, their knees accented with carved detailing consistent with the crest and apron ornament.
