A fine mid-19th century Anglo-Chinese writing box crafted from beautifully figured Huanghuali (Chinese rosewood), intricately inlaid with brass throughout.
This highly collectible campaign-era piece offers a sophisticated statement for an executive desk, library, or private collection.
The interior is lined with cushioned blue velvet, and the opening mechanism reveals a writing pad with blotting paper. Beneath the inkwell tray sits a concealed writing book, and the tray itself is finished with a leather base. The box retains its original premium Bramah lock mechanism.
It presents beautifully as an excellent showroom piece, retaining its historic character and fine craftsmanship
