An Edwardian desk chair refers to seating produced during the reign of King Edward VII, characterised by a blend of traditional craftsmanship and functional office requirements, often featuring durable hardwoods and leather upholstery.

These chairs were predominantly constructed using solid English oak or mahogany frames, paired with genuine leather upholstery and secured with traditional brass upholstery tacks.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit period-specific joinery, natural patination on the wood and leather, hand-forged or early machine-made fixings, and traditional materials rather than modern synthetic substitutes.

This piece works effectively as a functional desk chair in a home study or as an accent armchair in a living room, contrasting clean modern architectural lines with traditional textures.

Preserve the wood and leather by keeping them away from direct sunlight and heat sources, regularly dusting with a dry cloth, and occasionally applying appropriate beeswax to the wood and leather conditioning balm to the hide.
